It does have a very smokey profile to it which might be a little too strong in the starting but if one gets used to it, they will start to enjoy its smooth zingy/acidic flavour. It may not be the most prolific darjeeling but is definitely a good start.

The quality of the tea is superb, but the packaging by the seller is extremely poor.
Good taste and aroma
I have been drinking Makaibari for over a decade, and ordering from their online shop for the last 3 years, but was pleasantly surprised to find the Smoky Mountain tin delivering in the US from their Amazon store. I typically buy it from Spicewaala (in store) in Seattle but wanted to give the online order a try. Tea showed up within 48 hours and tastes perfect. If you're used to the non-smoky Makaibari, or like your tea between golden and red, then remember to steep this one for about 3 minutes. If you mostly drink tea with milk, I recommend you give this a shot without milk first. You won't need a morning cup of coffee anymore if you start your day with this. If you want a lighter tea for the afternoon or evening, I recommend their Summer Solstice.

'Smoky Mountain ' is of a different test, but I can at most give 3 out of 5 marks.
Not a good taste or flavour. Average. I will not buy it again. Only a smoky flavour which doesn't like after tasting.

Have been consuming this tea for a long time. Earlier Quality was good. But now it looks like quality has deteriorated. No aroma at all in the product.
Supposed to be a recent harvest, but lacked scent and taste. Doesn't taste like fresh Darjeeling at all. Tho Im spoiled because I have been there. Fresh Darjeeling is fragrant and delicious. This was a disappointment. BUT it will get you going thru the afternoon slump. ZOOM ! in a cup!
