FREEDOM IN A CUP
A rare unique flavour, exactly as old as Independent India, is all set to brew in your teacup.
On this special occasion of India’s 78th year of Independence, Makaibari brings to you a piece of history. Verleni 47 is a section of Makaibari that was planted in the year that India got its independence in 1947. The section has planted a tea area of 3.64 ha since 1947.
The Freedom Edition comes from some of the oldest tea bushes in the Makaibari gardens that were planted in 1947 - the year India finally became independent from colonial rule.
Harvested from Chinery tea bushes, coming right out of the monsoon rains, this brew comes with second flush characteristics of a full-bodied cup, excellent briskness, and a hint of sweet muscatel grapes. The tea has a beautiful appearance and a toasty aroma that will delight tea lovers worldwide.
The 78th year of Independence marks 77 years of freedom.
